Makanani Mersberg, owner of Sunday Jewels, created this brand with the sole purpose of sharing and expressing her love for jewelry. Makanani sparked the idea of curating jewelry as a full time college student from Hawaii - with time, money and resources stacked against her she became resourceful. Makanani was sick and tired of her jewelry turning green, tarnishing, flaking and not having the means to purchase high end jewelry so she turned to gold filled jewels.

Makanani realized that the gold filled necklace she had purchased three months ago withstood her daily gym routine, occasional beach day and shower each night. Her lifestyle became a stepping stone for Sunday Jewels to focus on creating a brand of high quality and affordable jewelry that is water resistant, sweat proof and tarnish free! 

Makanani’s wish is to create a safe space for all humans- no matter your ethnicity, color of skin, sexuality, religion, and so forth- so that we may all enjoy the luxuries of self-love, self-care, and acceptance. With the power of fashion, jewelry can ignite a flame to express who we are, who we want to be or just plain and simple our beauty!
